To support Soleterra d’Italia’s objectives for growth, innovation, and the sales of superior quality cooked and cured meats, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Manager with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively drive and deliver outcomes for the organization. Soleterra will consider any metropolitan area in the United States as a base for the sales operations.


Reporting to the Vice President, and working collaboratively with members of Soleterra’s Canadian operations and sales teams, the successful candidate will lead and be responsible for US sales and marketing, including but not limited to the following activities:


  • Cultivate new and existing relationships with buyers at supermarkets in the United States

  • Design and implement a strategic sales plan outlining a methodical approach for identifying and engaging prospective accounts

  • Lead all aspects of the sales process from initial pitch to managing the account

  • Drive business development in collaboration with senior management, identifying and pursuing emerging markets and market shifts

  • Foster long-term relationships and drive growth with customers through regular status calls and face-to-face planning meetings

  • Participate in the planning and monitoring of promotional activity supporting Soleterra’s products

  • Gather and interpret sales and marketing data required for forecasts, decision making and budget preparation

  • Seek out, prepare for, and attend events and tradeshows to promote products


Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 

  • A minimum of five years’ experience as a successful sales representative or manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets

  • Previous sales experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry and experience in meat and deli retail and food service

  • Established relationships with retail food buyers in the US are an asset

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as business administration

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships based on trust and respect

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, using a variety of software applications and online tools

  • Excellent organization and planning skills with ability to execute plans to achieve results

  • Experience in grocery management or sales, food processing or manufacturing is an asset

  • Understanding of and ability to set KPIs

  • Excellence in managing priorities and meeting deadlines in a timely fashion
