important to Sunterra Meats Ltd. The flexibility of our skilled and
dedicated staff, combined with Sunterra’s quality focus, enables
Sunterra to enter and succeed in world markets. Sunterra Meats Ltd.
facilities are HACCP recognized and supervised by the government
of Canada’s Canadian Food Inspection system. This means every
animal and carcass is inspected by Canadian government personel and
approved safe before being processed. Beyond the mandatory Canadian
requirements, Sunterra’s own quality assurance team checks
and monitors every area of the facility to ensure both food safety
and product quality.
Sunterra Meats’ efforts were recognized by Agriculture
and Agri-Food Canada in 2002 and presented with the Canadian
Agri-Food Award of Excellence. Much of the Sunterra exports are focused on
the very discerning Japanese market where branded Sunterra products
are available in supermarkets. Sunterra products have also been
exported to Mexico, the United States, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea
with expansion planned into European markets.
